Michael Wolf

Michael Wolf

Dr. Wolf is a 1979 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1988 Dr. Wolf and Dr. Schmidt founded Country Doctors Veterinary Service. Dr. Wolf practices large animal medicine with special interests in dairy herd health and system management.

Dr. Wolf (aka Bob Villa), his wife Muriel, and his dog Hank reside in rural Menomonie. His hobbies include camping, gardening, and any type of building projects.

James Schmidt

Veterinarian

James Schmidt

Dr. Schmidt grew up on a small farm in southwest Wisconsin. He received his DVM degree from the University of Illinois in 1973. In 1974, Dr. Schmidt moved to Menomonie and became one of the co-founders of Country Doctors Veterinary Service in 1988. Dr. Schmidt has a wide variety of interests, including large animal and small ruminant medicine and surgery. He has a special interest in equine wellness, reproduction, and surgery.

Dr. Schmidt and his wife enjoy watching their children's sporting events, working around their hobby farm, camping, and fishing in their free time.

Jennifer Bauer

Jennifer Bauer

Dr. Bauer has been practicing small animal medicine with Country Doctors since 2003. Graduating in 1999, she can claim the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine as her alma mater. Dr. Bauer enjoys her feline and canine patients and takes special interest in guiding her clients through the different wellness needs of their pets' life stages. Having grown up on a dairy and beef farm near Eau Claire, Wisconsin, she also maintains an interest in large animals. 

Dr. Bauer resides on a farm with her husband, Klaus, their cat, Summer, a herd of beef cattle, and their honey bees.

Kristin Willer

Veterinarian

Kristin Willer

Dr. Willer is a native of northern Minnesota. She received her DVM from Iowa State University in 2013 and practiced in rural Minnesota for a year before joining Country Doctors in 2014.  She spends the majority of her time working on dairy cows but can be found practicing on horses, goats, sheep, dogs, or cats on any given day. Her special interests include bovine reproduction, small animal internal medicine, and ophthalmology for both horses and companion animals.

Dr. Willer lives in Menomonie with her dog Jojo and cats Roo and Tom Wallace. In her spare time, she enjoys home improvement projects, gardening, fishing, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.

Rachel Newburg

Rachel Newburg

Rachel joined our team in July of 2021. She lives here in Menomonie with her two cats, Snowflake and Boogieman. She is a recent graduate of the Veterinary Technician program at Northwood Tech (formerly WITC) in New Richmond, WI. She has completed two internships with us and is striving for her certification this fall. It is a 100% guarantee that when your cat or dog spends the day with us, they will get all the cuddles and "nose boops" from this girl!

Holly Mara

Holly joined our team in 2009 as a receptionist and now wears many different hats at the clinic. She lives in Menomonie with her two daughters and two cats, Bugs and Lola. In her free time, Holly likes to travel, go to sporting events, read, and complete home improvement projects. 

Katrina Jones

Katrina Jones

Katrina joined Country Doctors in January of 2022. She lives in Knapp with her (very patient) husband, daughter, three cats (Boobert, Princess Chicken, and Smitty the Kitty), two dogs (Mushu and Cricket), and two turtles (The Professor and Roast Beef). She has a soft spot for special needs animals and volunteers at the Dunn County Humane Society. She enjoys golfing and trivia nights with her family. 

Connie Hoyt

Connie Hoyt

Connie joined Country Doctors in 1991. She is our inventory control specialist. She enjoys motor and pedal biking and being outdoors in the summer. During the winter, she prefers just to hibernate. Connie lives in Menomonie with her husband.

Fern

Treatment Room Supervisor

Fern

Fern has been with Country Doctors since 2008. She takes her supervisory role seriously and watches daily from above the doctor's computer.

Affectionately called "the Princess," she isn't shy about telling anybody what to do and when to help her down. She can also be seen in the afternoons when she strolls through the reception area for a treat and a quick pet before dinner.

Fashion Forward Clinic Cat

Binx

Binx joined Country Doctors in 2018 after an unfortunate accident turned him into a "tripod" kitty.

He is best known for his enthusiastic greeting of clients and his penchant for wearing clothing. He struts his stuff on the catwalk daily and races up and down the hallways at top speed. Feel free to ask him about his extensive wardrobe next time you stop by!
